In July of each year, the KL Swampdonkeys holds its AGM (Annual General Meeting) to reflect on the past season. This meeting is open to the public, and the Club encourages feedback from the community.

It is also an opportunity for members of our area to be nominated for positions on the BOARD OF DIRECTORS. Further information on the procedures of the Club can be found in the Mile of Gold Basketball's constitution.

We are always looking for those who want to volunteer to help basketball grow in our community.
In fact, with the experience you gain as you develop through the program, your dedication could result in financial help, from us, to pursue O.B.A. coaching certification, or basketball officiating certification.
Here is how you can get involved:
Start learning to coach or officiate with KL Swampdonkeys Skills Development .
You will be mentored by O.B.A. coaches as you begin your training toward either being an official or coach. Our coaches will help you plan, deliver, and supervise your development as you work with kids on the fundamental skills/rules of basketball.
Don't know anything about basketball? No problem. This is the best place to begin.
All you need to bring is your dedication and time to the program. Our goal is to help you prepare to coach or officiate in KL Swampdonkeys' House league games.
***High school students willing to give time to coaching or officiating at the Swampdonkeys Skill Development program can accumulate
volunteer hours applicable toward graduation requirements.
Now that you know the fundamental skills, let's move you to the bench/game!
You have been working with kids in Swampdonkeys Skills Development and you're growing confident about your skill knowledge. Maybe it's time you take on a greater role?
The KL Swampdonkeys House League is a great place to begin to learn the fundamentals of coaching/officating basketball games. Our 3on3 league runs from November to March Break, on Sundays. Your duties as "bench boss" are to promote fair play, a team mentality, apply team skills and concepts learned, and assure equal playing time for all players.
Here, you learn and practice working with kids as a team, learning team skills through an OBA certified coach.
As an official, you practise positioning, making basketball calls, and grow confidence as you officiate games of higher quality.
Again, you bring time and commitment, with some knowledge of the game already in place.
***Officiating pays at this level! Monetary compensation for all officials working House League games!
You've been with us a while; let's help you get certified!
The Mile of Gold Basketball Club (the group behind the KL Swampdonkeys programs) have noticed your dedication, commitment, and passion for the programs we offer.
Your skills have improved, whether as a coach or game official.
Now, you have decided you want to take the next step toward certification, and coaching at the Rep level.
Upon review, the Club may decide to help fund your pursuit of either the O.B.A. coaching certification or the Ontario Basketball Officials' certification.

**** IMPORTANT: ALL COACHING DUTIES AND PLACEMENTS WILL ULTIMATELY BE DETERMINED BY THE EXECUTIVE MEMBERSHIP OF THE MILE OF GOLD BASKETBALL CLUB.*****
***O.B.A. coaching certification gives you the opportunity to work as a head coach with the KL Swampdonkeys
Rep/Travel teams, or even pursue more certification toward provincial coaching levels.
***Officials training creates a means of secondary employment; you'll be certified to officiate High School Basketball, High School
tournament play, as well as O.B.A. certified events.
